Yahya Pasha Mosque in Skopje was built in 1504. Judging by the construction material and method of construction, it is evident that the mosque suffered damage and renovations.

In 1915 its premises were used by the German army as artillery workshop.

After World War I it was adjusted to perform religious rites.
The minaret Yahya Pasha mosque is 50 meters high - the highest of all other mosques in Skopje. The top of the minaret is made of gold half moon and star.
In the fenced yard are preserved tombstones and turbe, within which is thought to be buried Mehmed Pasha, the son of Yahya Pasha.
Yahya Pasha is known historical figure. He was commander of Skopje at the end of the fifteenth century, and son-in-law of Sultan Bayezid II. In military campaigns he gained great fame.

By the Sultan he was appointed vizier.

He died in Constantinople.
