Globochica Lake (Глобочица)

Globochica (Глобочица) is artificial lake on the river Crn Drim (Црн Дрим, Black Drim).

It is located about 20 km northwest of Struga, and it was created in 1965.
The dam is built of stone, its height from the ground is 90 m, and 82.5 m from riverbed. It’s base is 270 m long, 202 m to the crown, and the crown width is 6 m.
The lake is 12 km long, greatest width is 350 m and the average width is 224 m. In these frames it occupies an area of 2.69 km2.
Globochica Lake  is intended for producing electricity through hydro power with 41,6 MW, for regulating the flow of the river Crn Drim and the level of downstream located Spilje lake (Шпилје, Debar Lake, Дебарско Езеро), with which is forms a single power system.
