Visit the Park
In the north, the lower parts of the park, where theMolika pine forest dominates, there are many picnic spots that are ideal for family activities and walks. Pelister has typical mountain climate which is characterized by long, cold winters and short and cool summers. The best time to visit Pelister is from May to October.
For walk through the Park it is advisable to wear hiking boots, as well sun and rain protection. For longer trips it is advisable to carry food and water. In order to ensure the protection of nature and wildlife, visitors are required to follow the following rules:
– Nothing can be taken from the National Park Pelister! Without special permission from the Office of the Park, people should not collect plants, fungi, animals and stones. This of course means: prohibited hunting and fishing!
– Do not leave rubbish in the park! When leaving the park, take them with you.
– Camping Fire is not allowed in the park, except in places designated for picnic!
In order to reduce human impact on soil, plants, fungi and animals, it is preferred while walking to follow the marked trails. Horseback riding is allowed only along the tracks. Riding bikes in the strictly protected zone is only allowed with prior permission.
Camping is prohibited in the strictly protected zone.
The large number of trails, some of which are marked, enable the visitor to discover the many natural values of Pelister and come to its most interesting places. Two of these tracks are equipped with information boards (in Macedonian and English) with additional information concerning natural and cultural values of the site that are set:
– From Mountain Hut Kopanki to peak Pelister, etc. “Path on rocks” (Pateka po kamenjarot) (about 5 hours walking) and
From picturesque village Brajcino to Big Lake (about 6 hours walking).
The third pathway is specifically tailored and designed for the education of children and is a move from the children’s resort to the Golema Livada (Great Meadow) site.
Villages Malovishta, Nize Pole and Magarevo also have trails leading to the park and so they are ideal places for visit during the stay in National Park Pelister.
