Skopska Crna Gora – Macedonian Mountains

Skopska Crna Gora mountain (Скопска Црна Гора) with its highest peak Ramno (1,651 m) is a mountain with medium hight in northern Macedonia. Other famous peaks are Sokolovec and Dusanovec.

On Skopska Crna Gora are located springs of a large number of river flows and with the valley of Lipkovska Reka it is divided into two parts: western-higher and eastern lower part known under the name Karadag.

Skopska Crna Gora is rich with churches and monasteries such as: St. Elijah in village Chardak, St. Elijah – v. Banjani, St. Archangel Michael – v. Kucheviste, St. Athanasius the Great – v. Gluvo, St. Mary – v. Pobozje, St. Mary – v. Gornjani, St. George – v. Mirkovci, St. Mary – v. Mirkovci, Holy Salvation – v. Kuchevishte, St. Nikita – v. Gornjani and others.

What is interesting about Skopska Crna Gora are the large number of villages that are located relatively close to one another, like: Brazda, Banjani, Brodec, Brest, Gorno Orizari, Gluvo, Gornjani, Mirkovci, Kučeviste, Pobožje and Tanusevci.

The proximity to Skopje and the rich cultural, historical and natural heritage make Skopska Crna Gora one of the most visited tourist destinations in this part of Macedonia.
