Slave Makedonski (Славе Македонски) – Neolithic skeleton from Grncarica, village Krupiste

Slave Makedonski (Славе Македонски, Slave from Macedonia (Slave – name in Macedonia)) is Neolithic skeleton found on the archaeological site Grncarica near the village Krupiste.

Grncarica is early Neolithic settlement and also the oldest site in Southeast Europe. According to some analysis “Slave Makedonski” is approximately 6700 years old, which also makes it the oldest archaeological exhibit in Southeast Europe.
The skeleton was found in a typical position for burials in the Neolithic period, he was  buried on his  side, with his head close to the legs.
The Neolithic skeleton is presented at the Museum in Stip.
