The archbishop Cathedral of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopic, dedicated to the St. Kliment of Ohrid, is located in downtown of Skopje.
This cathedral is the largest Orthodox Church in Macedonia, made according to the project of architect Slavko Brezovski.
Construction of the cathedral started in 1972 while the consecration was performed on August 12, 1990 at the time of the archbishop Gavril. In accordance with its marvelous exterior, the interior is magnificent also. The iconostasis made of oak wood attracts the attention of the visitors. The cathedral icons are painted by Gorgi Danevski and Spase Spirkovski while the fresco paintings are made by Jovan Petrov and Nikola Conev.
In 2007, the monument of his Beatitude Dositej, the first archbishop of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, was placed in the front yard of the cathedral. The two-metre tall monument is masterpiece of the academician Tome Serafimovski.
